Arrivals and Departures
Campers are expected to arrive between 3:00PM and 5:00PM on Arrival Day. Campers and parents will be greeted by our staff and will be invited on a guided tour of the campus. A barbeque dinner will be served. Parents are welcome to join us for dinner.
Campers are expected to depart before Noon on Departure Day and to settle any amounts owing to the Tuck Shop before departure.
Parents are responsible for their child's transportation to and from the Frost Centre Institute Summer Camp.
What to bring… And what not to bring
Campers should bring the following items:
• Running shoes
• Hiking boots
• Rain coat
• Flashlight
• Swimsuits (2 or more)
• Beach towels
• Insect repellant
• Sunscreen
• Personal hygiene items
• Assortment of clothing for daytime and nighttime
• Sufficient socks and undergarments for at least 1 week (Laundry services are provided weekly, with next day delivery)
• Campers who play a (transportable) musical instrument are encouraged to bring them, at their own risk
• Campers may bring inexpensive cameras, although digital cameras will be provided during certain portions of the program
Campers should NOT bring the following items:
• Cash and/or any items of value
• Personal entertainment devices (Ipod, MP3, etc…)
• Cell phones, Blackberries, computers, etc… (Campers' lodges are equipped with computers for e-mail; campers should establish their own Yahoo or Hotmail or other
• e-mail accounts before Arrival Day)
• Illegal drugs, weapons of any kind, alcohol, tobacco(FCI has a zero tolerance policy with regard to these items)
Changes and Cancellations
Changes in Session selection are permitted, subject to availability, until April 30, 2007. No changes will be allowed beyond that date. Cancellations and refunds apply strictly to situations where a camper cannot attend the camp for medical reasons certified by a physician. There will be no refund for any other cancellation or no-show.
There will be no reduction in camp fees for campers who arrive late or leave early.
Code of Conduct
Campers are expected to behave in a civil manner and with respect for FCI staff and fellow campers. The FCI Summer Camp is neither a reform school nor a boot camp. Parents should not send kids who have serious behavioral issues. The Camp Director reserves the right to expel any camper who, in his/her exclusive opinion, and in spite of warnings, continues to cause serious disruption or to jeopardize his/her own safety, or the safety of others. There will be no refund of camp fees in such cases.
Emergencies
Every reasonable precaution is taken to provide a healthy and safe environment at the Camp. However, in case of accident or illness, the Camp or its staff cannot assume liability. All campers must be covered by Ontario Health or equivalent medical insurance.
In case of surgical emergency and where the parents/guardian cannot be reached for consultation, the Parent/guardian hereby give permission to the physician selected by the Camp to hospitalize, secure proper treatment for and order injections, anesthesia or surgery for the child named on this registration. If for any reason a camper requires medical attention or special medication beyond that furnished by the Camp, the parents/guardian agree to be responsible for any expenses incurred.
Liability
The parent/guardian approves the child's participation in all of the camp's programs and activities, acknowledging that such participation involves risks and hazards incidental thereto, all of which are expressly assumed by the parent/guardian who hereby waives, releases and absolves and agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Frost Centre Institute and its officers, directors, employees and agents of any and all liability arising therefrom, except such as shall arise solely as a consequence of its or their willful negligence or willful default.
The parent/guardian grants the Frost Centre Institute permission to use photographs of the child in promotional materials.
