A new
ENVIRONMENTAL COLLEGE
Grades 7 through 12

The Frost Centre Institute intends to open a new independent Residential College that will offer a full Middle and Secondary School curriculum with special emphasis on Environmental and Outdoor Education.

CONCEPT:

The mission of the FCI ENVIRONMENTAL COLLEGE will be to provide a world-class educational experience to students preparing to enter a university programme. The curriculum will include all of the normal academic content with an additional focus on Environmental Science through lecture, lab, experiential and outdoor components, including participation in environmental research projects under the umbrella of our research partnership with the University of Guelph.

Grades:

In its first year of operation, the FCI Environmental College will offer grades 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Grade 11 will be added in the second year of operation. Grade 12 will be added in the third year. Grades 9 through 12 will operate on a semester system.

Gender: The College will be coed in all grades.

Tuition Fees:

Tuition fees will be under $30,000 for boarding students, and under $15,000 for day students.

A number of spaces will be set aside for students in need of financial assistance.

Timeframe & Applications: Our plan is to open the FCI Environmental College in September 2009. The college will begin to accept and process enrollment applications in September 2008.
